Olof Hult for Näfveqvarns

Pair of “Mikrokosmos” (“Microcosm”) urns designed by Olof Hult (1892-1962) for the Näfveqvarns Bruk, in gilded and painted cast iron, Sweden, designed 1922, executed 1923-early 1930s. Each is surrounded in charming reliefs depicting a universe of flora, birds, and celestial bodies.

These iconic vessels were exhibited as part of the Swedish section of the Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in 1925.
