Olle Alberius
Striking both for its sculptural lobed form and the marvelous light play it creates when lit, this pair of table lamps designed by Olle Alberius (1926-1993) for Orrefors Glasfabrik AB, a relatively rare model #2325/271), even given the boutique production numbers of the company’s luxurious artistic lines. Crafted in thick crystal by a master glassblower, the base is the designer’s reinterpretation of the distinctive lobed vessels of 5th century CE Persia, appearing as more of an abstract sculpture than artifact; Sweden, 1960s, affixed Orrefors decal / inventory #OAL106
