Fine sofa in flame Cuban mahogany by Bent Helweg- Moller
Fine sofa encased in flame Cuban mahogany by Bent Helweg- Moller (1883-1956), Denmark, 1920s. Fine cuts of materials and craftsmanship, with handsome detailing in the sculpted molding at base. Presumably drawn on the occasion of the restoration and rebuilding of Heering Gaard, Overgaden, for which the architect Moller received the Eckersberg medal. Provenance: Descended from the family Heering Heering Gaard, Ovengaden neden Vandet 11, Copenhagen. Excellent original condition; restoration upon request
