“Cellulosa” desk in blond mahogany by Carl Malmsten
“Cellulosa” desk designed by Carl Malmsten and executed by Erik Johansson, in blond mahogany, with a generously proportioned rectangular top having a surface of rectangular cuts of wood arranged in a handsome border and field configuration; the sitter’s side has two drawers that pull out from the top apron, on either side of a knee well for additional leg room (the opposite/visitor side appears as a solid apron across the length); the overhang on either of the shorter sides taper up from underneath, which on the front and back create a silhouette that hints at traditional Chinese tables with bracketing, and the four square profile legs taper downward, Sweden, mid-20th century. Brand marks for designer and craftsman. Very good condition; restored on request.
