Architect and interior designer Carl Westman (1866-1936), was a influential figure in the formation of the National Romanticism Style, a Swedish manifestation of the international Arts and Crafts Movement which adapted local building and furniture traditions. His most notable commissions include the Röhss Museum in Gothenburg (1910–1914) and the Stockholm Court House (1911–1915).
Bröderna Erikssons Möbelverkstad, located near Arvika, was renowned in Sweden and abroad for its fine craftsmanship and its collaborations with leading National Romanticism architects, including Westman, Ragnar Östberg, and Ivar Tengbom.
