Table lamp by Carl Halier
A perfect example of Carl Halier’s (1873-1948) technical mastery and love of organic forms, this lamp by Halier for Royal Copenhagen has gourd-like sinuously modeled form in stoneware with a spectacularly executed “Sung” glazing in which the frothy pale highlights have been coaxed to form a collar around the base’s shoulders, creating a spectacular effect when the lamp is lit; Denmark 1920s; painted triple wave mark and Halier cipher on underside / #CHA121
